Description:

Family Promise empowers families with children in a housing crisis to achieve and maintain permanent housing. We offer several programs to address families' needs, including prevention services for families who are at risk of losing housing, diversion from shelter, safe shelter and meals for families who have no other options, and housing stabilization services to help families stabilize in their new housing. All programs include strength-based wrap-around case management and life skills classes.

Hours:

8 am - 5 pm Mon - Thurs.; 8 am - 3 pm Friday

Intake Process:

Families in need should call us at 785-764-9506 and we can schedule a program assessment with them to determine the best program to fit their needs.

Program Fees:

No Fees

Eligibility:

Families must have at least one (1) adult and at least one (1) child in their care, or be pregnant, and they must reside in Douglas County.

Is Shelter?

Yes

Shelter Requirements:

Must have children living with them at least part-time; must remain drug/alcohol free while in the program; cannot have a history of violence or sexual offenses

Volunteers can help serve meals to families, help with maintenance/repairs, yardwork and cleaning units to prepare them for a new family to move into.
