Description:
To provide services, at no cost, to all victims, family members and friends of impaired driving. Services include: referrals to counselors and civil attorneys; assistance in completing Crime Victims Compensation application and requests for restitution; and court accompaniment both through the criminal and civil process. MADD Victim Service staff also provides emotional support through their 24-hour helpline, madd.org chat feature and the closed MADD Victim Services Facebook page. MADD also connects victims with peer support - connecting victims to those who can share common experiences or face similar challenges by having been impacted by impaired driving and can come together to give and receive help based on this shared experience. MADD also works with law enforcement, prosecutors and other community partners/agencies to educate them on the support and services MADD offers within their community. We also provide presentations to schools, businesses and organizations across the State to both educate them on the services MADD provides, but also to remind them of the dangers of impaired driving.
