Heartspring provides therapies and special education for pediatric neurodevelopment. Through its Pediatric Outpatient Clinic, Therapeutic Residential & Day School, and Community Engagement programs, Heartspring addresses the gap in specialty healthcare and services for children with neurodevelopmental delays and disabilities. Originally founded in 1934 as the Institute of Logopedics, Heartspring is celebrating its 90th year and continuing its tradition of integrating evidence-based therapies into innovative support models that help children realize their full potential in communication, social interactions, mobility, and daily living. Description

There is no one type of autism. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) encompasses a wide array of communication, behavioral, and social skills challenges and presents itself differently in every individual impacted. Heartspring’s autism therapy team focuses on early interventions and individualized therapies for each of our clients utilizing applied behavior analysis. Our programs strive to build enriching and meaningful lives for each family member.

    Description

    Heartspring always needs volunteers to help our Community Engagement team host neurodiverse-friendly events, trainings, and social clubs both on and off our campus. We have opportunities for special events or day-to-day activities. In order to work with our children, all volunteers must have a cleared background check.           Heartspring provides free newborn hearing screenings, audiological evaluations, comprehensive central auditory processing evaluations, hearing aid fitting and programming, custom swim and noise plugs, and optimizing participation in activities that have been limited because of hearing difficulties.

              Description

              Heartspring CARE Clubs offer neurodiverse children and teens the opportunity to learn valuable skills necessary for social and emotional development. Additionally, we host a monthly Teen Hangout where neurodiverse teens (ages 12-18) can enjoy a safe night filled with food, refreshments, and games! We also offer a monthly Parents Night Out where neurodiverse children and their siblings (ages 2-18) can play and make friends while their caregivers have a night out.

                  Heartspring has been a leader and innovator in creating hope and opportunity for children with complex needs and their families since it was founded in 1934 as the Institute of Logopedics. The face and even the name may have changed over the years, but the common thread that continues to run through the organization is the dedication to its mission of helping children with complex needs find greater independence.                       Heartspring’s Community Engagement programs offer consultations, collaboration, and connection. Our CARE (Community Awareness, Resources, and Education) Clubs provide a wide range of social skill-building opportunities. We aim to help neurodiverse children and teens learn valuable skills necessary for social and emotional development. Each club is tailored to fit the individual needs of the participants.
