Description:

The Batterer Intervention Program (BIP) is designed to assist offenders of domestic violence to learn healthier ways of thinking about their partners and eliminating abusive behavior and/or violence towards them. It is an educational/cognitive/behavioral program that follows the guidelines of the Office of the Kansas Attorney General. This program meets once a week for a minimum of 24 weeks.

Hours:

10 am - 3 pm Mon - Fri main office hours, but BIP assessments and classes may be scheduled for evenings or weekends.

Description

All referrals are screened for appropriateness using the Kansas Domestic Violence Offender Assessment tool. Those considered appropriate begin the program. Schedule an assessment via the website or by calling.

Assessment $125; weekly group offered on sliding fee scale.

Intake Procedure

Clients referred by Harvey County Court Services, Community Corrections and County Attorney's office. Self-referrals are also welcome. Volunteer case workers should inquire directly at OVM.
