A locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity Int'l, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization. Habitat builds and renovates houses in partnership with volunteers and families in need, regardless of their ethnic or religious background. The houses are then sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged. Approved applicants partner with Habitat through 225 sweat equity hours per adult in the family, participating in educational classes and signing a zero interest mortgage once the home is completed.

9 am - 4 pm Mon - Fri.
Eligibility
Douglas and Jefferson County candidates have inadequate housing and lack financial resources. They have stable income between 30%-60% of the HUD median income with acceptable credit history and do not have excessive debt. They have a willingness to help build Habitat homes and are responsible neighbors with demonstrated financial responsibility in making regular payments.
Fees
Partner families pay a monthly interest-free mortgage payment. Mortgage terms are adjusted so families do not pay more than 25% of their gross income. A payment of $1,200 in closing costs is required when house is completed.
