Douglas County CASA provides trained and professionally supervised volunteers to advocate on behalf of children who have experienced abused and neglected and are identified as CINC (Child In Need of Care) under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court system in the 7th Judicial District (Douglas County). Volunteers are appointed by the court and must be 21 years or older, pass extensive screening and background checks, successfully complete 30+ hours of initial training, and complete 12 hours of Continuing Education annually.
