Is a national membership organization; has chapters and support groups in nearly every state. Holds an annual conference, with a large trade show of the latest high- and low-tech devices for blind and visually impaired people. Provides college scholarships for blind students. Publishes magazines, "The ACB Braille Forum" (hard-copy versions in braille, large print, on digital cartridge, online, via email and podcast); free to members, all others pay $25 per format per year. Holds annual legislative seminar in Washington, D.C. Offers information and referral services on non-medical aspects of blindness.
