The Shelter receives fees from the Kansas Department of Children & Families and their subcontractors for foster care services provided by the Shelter. The fee for keeping a child in the Shelter is set by the State of Kansas. The Shelter also receives donations and grants from various sources. The Shelter is dependent on these contributions to maintain and operate the home. All donations are tax-deductible.

Eligibility

Children are admitted as the result of the following conditions: abuse or neglect, breakdown of the home, or sudden illness, or an accident or tragedy depriving them of adequate care. The home is not used as a detention for delinquent children, boarding services, or baby-sitting.

Fees

The Shelter receives fees from the Kansas Department of Children & Families and their subcontractors for foster care services provided by the Shelter. The fee for keeping a child in the Shelter is set by the State of Kansas.

Intake Procedure

Children are placed in the Shelter with referrals from local law enforcement and foster groups. In conformity with Kansas Statutes and regulations, the Shelter is available to children up to twelve years of age. The Shelter is presently licensed for seven children.
