Each spring, law students from the University of Kansas provide free federal and state tax preparation services to those who qualify through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. The service operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and the number of preparers varies with the site.
Hours:
Sessions begin on Monday, February 20th and end on Monday, April 17. During the university's spring break, March 13-19, there will be no sessions.
6 - 8:45 pm Mon; 3 - 5:45 pm Wed; 9 am - 12pm Sat.

Eligibility
To qualify, taxpayers must: be residents of Douglas County, KS; make less than $58,000 per year; and not itemize deductions.

Those seeking assistance are encouraged to show up near the start of each session. Please bring proof of identification and all relevant documentation, including proof of income and expenditures.
