TDD/TTY Implementation

Taxonomy Code: TP-3350.8500-600

Programs that help nonprofit organizations, small businesses and other groups select, implement and effectively use equipment that transmits and receives printed messages in coded electronic signals carried by telephone wires allowing people who are deaf or have hearing impairments, speech disabilities or other limitations to communicate with the organization. TDD/TTY calls can be handled by stand-alone TDD/TTY machines or routed through the organization's PBX (private branch exchange), if available, to one or more networked computers or a dedicated device and answered by typing and sending a printed response.
